Last weekend saw the running of the 2024/25 Metro South-West Ladies Senior Pairs Championships at Revesby Workers Bowling Club. It was an all St Johns Park clash in the Final with Lorraine Peel & Sue Brooker claiming the Championship with a 19-16 win over Jackie Short & Cheryl Patman. Lorraine & Sue burst out of the blocks, jumping out to a 9-3 lead after 7 ends, then extending that lead to 13-4 after 12 ends. Jackie & Cheryl then went up a gear, going on a 10-1 run, levelling the scores at 14 all after 17 ends. Going into the last end, scores were again level at 16 all. Lorraine & Sue managed to secure a 3 on the last end, taking the match & the Championship 19-16. Congratulations to all 4 players on reaching the final & putting on a great match for the spectators. Lorraine & Sue will now represent Metro South-West at the State Championships in Ballina in late March 2025.
In Semi Finals, Lorraine & Sue defeated Erin X Wu & S Frappell (Mt Lewis) 25-19, whilst Jackie & Cheryl defeated P Linmaneechote & S Ahn (Cabramatta) 27-9.
