2024/25 Men’s Over 60’s Singles Championship

Congratulations to Gary Stanwell who is the 2024/25 men’s Over 60’s Singles Champion. Gary defeated Hank Sato 25-12 in the final. The match started fairly even with Gary Holding a slight lead in the early stages 7-3. It was then that Gary stepped up a gear, picking up 10 shots over the next 6 ends whilst only conceding 2 singles, to take a commanding 17-5 lead. Hank wouldn’t lie down though, with the recent Japanese national Singles Winner collecting consecutive singles, followed by a full count of 4, to trim the margin to 6 shots at 17-11. Gary hit back in strong fashion, picking up a 3, followed by a 4 of his own, taking to the hill at 24-11. Hank picked up a 1 on the next end, but Gary then picked up the 1 shot he needed, taking the match & the Championship 25-12. Congratulations to both players on reaching the Final, a great effort by you both.

In the Semi Finals, Gary defeated Ian Whalan 25-13 while Hank had a 25-18 win over Domenic Mediati.
